"Hey, how are you" might not be using your time wisely.

Dating is not my best activity.

I don't even need to use my toes to count how many actual dates I've been on, but I do have a pretty entertaining line of "dating" stories I could tell you. Bring me some margaritas after the Single and Mingle party tomorrow night and I'm sure I'll start throwing stories your way.

Speaking of the Single and Mingle party tomorrow night, this year we're throwing speed dating into the mix. I have a bunch of single and married friends who think speed dating would be the coolest thing ever. I never really thought about it before, but I mean I'm gonna be there anyway so I might as well sign up.

The best part about speed dating is that you only have to talk to stranger for a few minutes in case they're scary, however the other problem with speed dating is that you only have a few minutes to get any info out of your potential suitors. (Yeah, I said suitors... can this be a Disney movie?)

So you should probably make the most out of the time by asking really good questions and getting the conversation going in the right direction as soon as possible.

Here's where my suck-tastic dating background comes into play, or rather does not come in to play.

Wanna know how I talk to guys? I tell them I have an adorable left foot, that my favorite water bottle brand is Aquafina, that I like stealing people's baseball hats, I ask them what they got on their ACT, and let them know how much I like ice cubes.

Those are not normal things.

I do try to throw a "what's your favorite color" in there too, but unless the answer is red, I don't really care.

While I could use my regular Michelle weirdness when I speed date tomorrow night, I thought it might be a good idea to google some better speed dating questions, just to have on hand. I found these questions on Ditch or Date, they have a pretty long list, but these are my favorite 7.

  1. What is your favourite film?
  2. If you were on Survivor what would be the one thing you would take as your luxury item?
  3. If  you could be someone else for a day, who would it be?
  4. What 3 words would your best friend use to describe you?
  5. If you could invite anyone, dead or alive, to a dinner who would it be?
  6. What type of music do you like?
  7. What is the last CD you bought?
