If you plan on taking your sweetie somewhere outside of Rockford for Valentine's Day you're in luck.

A new study was done by WalletHub on the "Best Places to go for Valentine's Day" and Chicago, as well as Madison, were named as a couple of the top cities.

San Francisco took top honors on the list but Chicago wasn't far behind landing on the 5th spot.

Chicago ranked 4th for "activities" and 5th for "gift accessibility." For activities, WalletHub weighed the number of restaurants, cafes, attractions. Along with nightlife, walkability, and overall amusement and entertainment.

Gift accessibility takes into account the amount of jewelry, florists, candy, and greeting card stores. As well as wellness and spa centers. They also check what the Google Search Index says about each city when it comes to "Valentine's Day Gift Ideas" per WalletHub.

Madison also made the list, coming in at 43 out of 100 city's surveyed. Their highest ranking? In the budget category. Madison came in 37th. It appears that might be the best deal in the area for Valentine's Day.

Of course, you could always stay home. That'll probably save you a ton of money.
