Ugh, I'm not sure there's enough chlorine in the world to remove the bad taste in my mouth.

I mean, sure, there are some truly dirty people in the US. I guess I just didn't know so many people thought "forget the bath, I'll just use the pool to clean off" instead of actually using soap and water.

The survey found that more than half of Americans (51%) report using a swimming pool as a communal bathtub, either swimming as a substitute for showering or using the pool to rinse off after exercise or yardwork.

The report also says 64% of Americans know that pool chemicals like chlorine don't actually eliminate the need for a shower, but it seems like it doesn't matter anyway.

Since we're diving into disgusting numbers here's the worst part:

40% of Americans admit they’ve peed in the pool as an adult. Pee also reacts with chlorine, reducing the amount of chlorine available to kill germs.

That "pee in the pool" percentage is way higher than I ever hoped. I'm officially scared to get in the water. When the weather finally warms up, I think I'll pass on the dirty pee filled pool water next time I need to cool off.
