Due to the coronavirus outbreak, jail visits will be suspended until further notice. However, there are a couple exceptions.

Both Winnebago and Stephenson county sheriff's departments, in an effort to control the spread of the virus, have stopped all inmate visits.

The only visits allowed would be with attorneys in unusual circumstances (wonder what those could be?) or a court order, according to wrex.com.

Inmates at both jails will still be allowed unlimited phone calls.
