If you're looking for something completely different to do in Wisconsin, I have to tell you about something in Lake Geneva that is genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

And I'm not just saying that because it sounds crazy!  My parents have actually done this.

Lake Geneva is famous for its mail boat tradition, where mail jumpers literally just off a moving boat, run onto a dock to deliver the mail, and then have to make it back onto the boat before it keeps moving.

Yes, you're basically watching someone do an obstacle course while the boat is moving and hoping they make it back on board in time.

Wisconsin’s Wild Mail Boat Tradition Is an Absolute Must-See

Recently, Red Bull Delivery Rush brought a competitive twist to the tradition, with more than 30 competitors taking on the challenge.  The contestants had to leap off a moving boat, race to the dock, deliver the mail and then make it back onto the boat before it left without them.

If they took too long, they end up in the water!

Yep, there were plenty of wipeouts and close calls.

After the qualifying round, the top 10 moved onto the final round with a longer down and even more obstacles.  So if you thought the first round looked difficult, they decided to make it even harder!

Now the coolest part?  The competition was inspired by Lake Geneva's actual mail jumper tradition, which has been part of mail delivery on the lake for decades.
