Wisconsin’s First ‘Cat Cafe’ is Officially Open

If you could pick two things in this world to put together that would make you happy, what would they be? Think chocolate and peanut butter; or cookies and milk.

How about coffee and cats? It's purrrrfection, especially if you're a coffee and cat lover. Obviously.

Well now the two have been put together for Madison, Wisconsin's newest business, Cat Café Mad; a place where you can sip on a cup of coffee and cuddle with cats. Sounds like the best coffee break, ever.

So how does it work? There's a $10 "cover" charge that gets you a cup of coffee and unlimited play time with cats, most of which are provided by local shelters. Because of health code concerns, the cats are kept in a separate area so you won't have to worry about extra fur in your latte.

The café is open Monday through Wednesday, 3-9 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 3-11 p.m. and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
