Food lovers looking to get late night delivery on the cheap will rejoice; people who work in the kitchen of some of your favorite Rockford restaurants might regurgitate at this interesting tech news- According to Refinery29, there's a new app that was launched in the UK that will allow you to buy leftover food that eateries and diners would typically throw out at the end of the night.

The creators of the app, Too Good to Go, say the service is meant to allow customers to "Eat Well. Save Money. Save the Planet" by giving food lovers the opportunity to buy and eat delicious, professionally cooked meals at a faction of the cost; while eliminating what they say is one of the "dumbest problems we have in this world," food waste.

When ordering through the app, users will be given an idea of what food is available, they have to pick up the order near or at closing time and one of the biggest drawbacks, at least for us, is that the app is currently only available in the UK and Denmark.

Should it prove to be successful, it very well could launch in the US in the near future. Eater says a wider expansion is to come but they haven't said what countries would be next.

So what do you think? Would you use this? Is it smart and resourceful? Or stupid and unsanitary?

Should it come to the States, here are some Rockford restaurants I wouldn't mind having some leftover food from:

1. Beef-A-Roo

2. Uncle Nick's

3. Capri Restaurant

4. Five Forks Market

5. Greenfire

6. Lucha Cantina

7. Stockholm Inn

8. Social Urban Bar & Restaurant

9. Lino's

10. Franchesco's
