10 Ways To Love Your Rockford Summer More

The movies kick off June 3 at Davis Park and will play the first Friday of the month throughout the summer. First up, Inside Out.

2. Take a trip to Magic Waters.

A hot summer day spent at Magic Waters is usually a pretty good day. Check out the amazing slides, eat lunch and get a tan.

3. Check out Anderson Gardens.

The beautiful flowers and sights of Anderson Gardens are the perfect compliment to the cool and calm summer night in Rockford.

4. Walk through Rock Cut State Park.

A great hike through Rock Cut will give you a chance to relax while taking in the incredible sights of the park.

5. See a movie at AMC 16 or 14.

The past few years AMC locally have shown family movies during the day. A perfect way to get out of the house during rainy summer days.

The Rockford Rivets are celebrating their inaugural season at Rivets Stadium in Loves Park. From the sounds of things, they're going to be pretty good.

Just because it's summer doesn't mean your kids can't pick up some knowledge. A trip to Discovery Center is a fun learning experience for kids of all ages.

The city market is open on Friday afternoons throughout the summer, giving many local vendors an opportunity to show their wares.

9. See the Rockford Ski Broncs water ski show team in action.

This long time staple of the Rockford area has been around since 1967. This amateur group of water skiers do their thing at Shorewood Park in Loves Park.

10. Try to find "Rockford's Best Pizza."

See if you can eat pizza at every pizza place in the Rockford area during the summer. I've been running around for nearly 8 months trying to eat at every pizza joint in town and have yet to make it to every place.
