97ZOK Teacher of the Week
Congratulations to Heather Hecker from Hillman Elementary School in Rockford.
Kaitlyn Speers nominated Heather, she writes,
I am the instructional coach at this building, which means I work with the staff on a daily basis and get to experience every classroom. Heather has an amazing presence in her classroom, and it is evident that she cares deeply for her students.

There is always learning happening, her kids are always engaged, and they have made amazing growth this year both academically and socially because of the systems she has in place. She collaborates so well with her 2nd-grade team and is always thinking of what their next steps should be to do what is best for our 2nd-graders. She is an amazing teacher!
You can listen to my conversation with Heather below as she shares that she gets to teach alongside 2 of the teachers who inspired her to become one. She had us laughing when she answered the questions about her favorite and least favorite words.
