13 Places to Recycle Your Christmas Tree In the Rockford Area
For many people, the day after Christmas marks the first day to take down your holiday decorations, including that real Christmas tree. Now it's time to recycle it!In the Rockford area, there are 13 convenient recycling locations to recycle your Christmas tree according to Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful. Six locations in Rockford alone.
Christmas tree recycling will take place from Jan 1- Jan 15, 2019.
Before you do it is important to remember to remove all decorations, tinsel and light from the tree.
ROCKFORD LOCATIONS

- Levings Lake at South Johnston Ave. entrance at Montague (east entrance)
- Crimson Ridge on Perryville Rd

STATELINE LOCATIONS

Very important, do NOT recycle your Christmas wreaths. Wreaths can be accepted because they held together with a wire frame which will destroy the mulching machines.
Beginning on January 15th Christmas trees are recycled into mulch produced which in turn in provided for free for area residents.
