You might be used to hitting up Fozzy's for a cocktail or dance party, but this weekend, they're filling their bar with a children's Halloween costume contest. 

We love a surprise like this!

Halloween is literally right around the corner, next Thursday, you know! You're probably making sure you have plenty of candy for trick-or-treaters and grabbing the finishing touches for your family's costumes.

You might think local restaurants and bars are only hosting events for the over 21 crowd this weekend but there's at least one local spot flipping the switch on us this year and hosting a children's Halloween costume contest, Fozzy's Bar and Grill in Loves Park.

According to Stateline Kids, the contest is this Saturday, October 26 at 11am with special kids Halloween food and drink specials!

Plus, get this, the best kids costume wins $200! Imagine you're 8 years old... $200 is basically a million bucks!

The contest is limited to 20 kids aged 4-8 and you must sign up in advance to qualify to win the contest.

While it costs $10 to reserve your spot in the contest, you will get that money returned to you after the contest, according to Stateline Kids' Facebook post. 

There are also prizes for second and third place, second place costume wins $50 in cash and the third place costume wins a free hour of simulator play at Fozzy's Skybox in the Indoor Soccer Center.

You need to arrive at 11am to check-in for the contest and the contestants will take the stage at 11:30, with voting happening at noon.

If you want to vote for the contest you just have to be at Fozzy's during the event!

Fozzy's is located at 6246 E. Riverside in Loves Park.
