Fall is just around the corner, and you know what that means—apple orchards around Illinois are back open for the season!

Tell me why you're planning on hitting up the Apple Orchard this fall.  Is it for the donuts?  Apple picking?  The Farm Market? The reasons could be endless!

If you’re looking for a perfect fall outing as we kick off September, here are the top reasons you need to visit an Illinois apple orchard sometime in the next few months.

These are the top two reasons I make the drive:

Delicious Apple Cider Donuts

If you haven’t had a fresh apple cider donut, especially with sugar, you’re missing out! they're sweet, cinnamon, and totally worth the trip.

Inside the Farm Market, you can try different apple flavors before deciding which ones to buy.  Honeycrisp is always the best!

Others have said these are other reasons you can't pass up a day at the Orchard!

  • Cider Slushies: Apple cider is delicious, but have you ever tried it in slushy form? Yeah, it’s so refreshing and my absolute favorite fall drink.
  • Take a Picture in Front of the Apple Orchard Sign: No trip to an orchard is complete without snapping a photo in front of the iconic orchard sign.  Keep the family tradition alive!
  • Eating Apple Pie with Cheese: It might sound odd, but trust me—apple pie with melted cheese is a game-changer.  I order it every time it's available!

If you're bringing the kiddos along, visit the pet barn and meet all their farm animals!  There are two handsome dog greeters, Gus and Cooper, over at Edwards Apple Orchard who welcome you with wagging tails!

So grab your friends, family, or the love of your life and head to an Apple Orchard this fall for a fun and delicious fall experience!
