From teens trying to get the driver's license to experienced drivers, this new law better be learned by all.

A special merge law goes into effect on January 1, 2020, called the 'Zipper Merge Method.'

We now much legislate a little kindness on the road. There is almost nothing more frustrating that traffic not allowing you to merge when a lane of traffic is closing. In Illinois, EVERY ROAD is under construction, so lane closures are everywhere, sitting and waiting for someone to let you merge can set off some road rage.

Starting Jan. 1, If a lane of traffic is blocked, like for construction or a crash, instead of drivers waiting for an opening to move into the free lane, they will alternate with drivers in the other lane to merge with traffic.
