A Place In Illinois Near Rockford To Take A Sleigh Ride
You can get a sleigh ride at this place in Illinois near Rockford.
I've got to experience a lot of fun things in my life. Especially when it comes to holiday festivities. Here are some of my favorite Christmastime memories with my family
- Cutting down our own tree.
- Going to see the decorations in Chicago.
- Taking my daughter to see Santa.
- Seeing the play "A Christmas Carol."
- Performing in a holiday program in grade school.
That's just to name a couple.
The one activity I've always wanted to try but never have is going on a sleigh ride. The opportunity has never come up. It looks like a lot of fun. Especially, with family and friends. I've been on wagon and hayrides. They were a blast. I think it would be quite similar except you have to bundle up because of the snow and cold. A couple of years ago, my family and I took the carriage rides at Stroll on State. That was a good time, so I have no doubt I'll enjoy it.
Recently, I found a place not too far from Rockford that has them. It's in Tinley Park. Before you start complaining about the drive, it's near the outdoor concert venue. You've probably have made the trek there for a show. This is even a better reason which is quality family time.
According to onlyinyourstate.com,
"While there are many places in the state where you can go dashing through the snow, Forest View Farms has been hosting sleigh rides for decades and are experts in equestrian adventures. This winter wonderland is the perfect place to remind yourself that cheerful traditions haven’t all become ghosts of Christmas past while you and your loved ones have a holiday blast. Located in Tinley Park, a charming village between Chicago and Joliet, Forest View Farms is the perfect holiday escape for equestrians and nature lovers alike."
Plus, it's an outdoor event so it works better in this COVID world.
I think I'm going to have to start a new family tradition.
