A Random Dude Running for Governor of Illinois Wants to Form a New State
If we've learned anything from our the most recent election season, it's that it doesn't matter who you are or where you came from, anyone can hold political office in this country.
What that person decides to do once they hold that office isn't exactly up to us, but we can hope and pray that everything they promised us during their lengthy campaign will become a reality.
If breaking away from Chicago and splitting up Illinois into three separate states sounds appealing to you, then you'll want to consider voting for Robert Marshall.
According to the Journal Star, Marshall is currently campaigning to be the next governor of Illinois and he has a plan to carve Illinois into three states: Chicago, the collar and northern counties, and the rest. (the boundaries aren't exact)
But why? Apparently Chicago is to blame.
Marshall says, “Down here you would not be bossed around by people from Chicago anymore.”
I haven't lived here long enough to attest to the fact that the Windy City is that bad, so maybe you could tell me?
Would you vote for someone who wants to break away from Chicago and create new state lines?
