A Taco Joint An Hour From Rockford Named One The Best ‘Places To Eat In The U.S.’

It's safe to say this unassuming taco joint was just as surprised as we were to find out they were named one of the best places to eat in the U.S. in 2019.

I'm only guessing, it might have been because they've been closed since Christmas. Seriously, Los Takitos Taco Shop in Palatine just reopened yesterday.

However, that doesn't mean that their food isn't the goods. That's because they were one of only five restaurants in Illinois to land on Yelp's "Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. 2019" list. Los Takitos Taco Shop and the rest earned the status of 'must try this year.'"

Los Takitos Taco Shop ranked 62nd out of 100 with one Yelp user saying "Excellent service, delicious food, everything you could ask for in a very small, counter service, taco shop."

Looks like I need to "try" Los Takitos Taco Shop this year, too.

Los Takitos Taco Shop is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and located at 809 N. Quentin Road in Palatine.
