Ice skating in Millenium Park, walking through Lincoln Park with the zoo lights, and sipping on hot spiced wine in the Christkindlmarket.  It's really no surprise that the number one holiday winter destination is the one and only Chicago, Illinois. Walking in the city during the winter months is one of my favorite things about the city.  It looks like everyone else is loving it too.

According to Wallethub -

In order to determine the best winter holiday destinations, WalletHub compared 130 of the most populated U.S. metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across six key dimensions: 1) Travel Costs & Hassles, 2) Costs in Destination, 3) Attractions, 4) Weather, 5) Activities and 6) Safety.

Not only was Chicago ranked #1 overall, but they also ranked number 1 for winter activities.  You can find a list of great activities here.

The top 5 list looks like this -

  1. Chicago, IL
  2. Washington DC
  3. Atlanta, GA
  4. Cincinnati, OH
  5. New Jersey

Winter will be here before we know it, and we all know how crowded the city gets during the holidays.  So get all of your activities in early before the crowds get too insane!  Happy holidays.
