With the unpredictable weather in Illinois, there is one way to really know when summer is headed our way.

Sure, summer doesn't start until June 21st, but it's never too early to start daydreaming about the warm, beaming sun.

I live near the downtown Rockford area and I was driving on Madison Street when I spotted a ton of Bird Scooters lined up in front of a business.

In that moment, I realized if Bird Scooters were popping up across the city then sunshine should be making its way around town, too!

All through winter, did you notice there were no Bird Scooters out and about?  That's because scooter operations are paused during the winter months and make a return when spring hits.

I'm excited about it because all the kids in my neighborhood are always cruising around together with no cares in the world.  It's great to see kids playing outside since you don't see that much anymore.

If you're looking to find a Bird Scooter near you, you can always download their app to find the closest one.  My neighbor, Kyle, likes to leave one in front of his house for convenience.

If he doesn't feel like driving to the bars downtown, he could walk... or hop on his Bird Scooter for little to nothing.

I mean, these things go fast.  I've been on it one time and it felt like I was passing cars at 45mph lol.
