And, if you happen to be a women making your summer bucket list, you're in luck because every summer there is a special build day for you. The Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity Women Build.

This year the Women Build is on Friday, May 31 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

I have been lucky enough to take part in the Women Build for the past few years and now only was it so empowering to grab hammers and make walls, but it's pretty incredible to be working side by side a ton of other local women who want to spend their day volunteering.

There's a bit of a twist this year. The Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity is asking for donations when you sign up for the Women Build, to help create these spaces for our community.

According to the GiveButter page, each bedroom costs $19,200 to create, each bathroom costs $8,000, the living rooms cost $35,200, the dining space is $28,800, the kitchen is $24,000 and the garade is $44,800.

That comes to $160,000 per house.

Each donation can help the Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity get closer to their goal of building as many houses as possible this summer.

You can register for the Women Build here.
