When you thought we didn't need another retail store in Rockford, think again!  Rockford welcomes a new thrift store to the East side, Carpenter's Corner Thrift & More.

I'm thrilled that Carpenter's Corner opened in Rockford over the weekend!  They're located at the former Hilander and Schnuck's building at 1715 Rural Street, Rockford.

So glad to see something fill the space to drive more traffic to nearby businesses and make a difference in the surrounding neighborhoods!

What is Carpenter's Corner Thrift & More?

The goal is to employ guests of Carpenter's Place, help the homeless, and families in crisis in the Rockford area.  Plus, every purchase you make benefits these families!

Of course, I had to pay a visit to the new thrift shop because I love thrifting and supporting local, especially if it's helping a non-profit.

The Director of Retail Operations told me they're open and accepting donations 9:00am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday, taking volunteer applications, and hoping to start picking up donations directly from donors' homes within the next few weeks.

"Carpenter's Corner will be vital to helping fund our programs benefiting so many homeless and families in crisis." [TCP]

I'm all about looking for a good deal on anything; furniture, clothing, household items, and anything that I don't have to pay full price for.

Carpenter's Corner Thrift & More is open Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm at 1715 Rural Street in Rockford.  Check them out online for more information about donating, volunteering, or the mission behind the business.
