Checkers Seems To Have Forgotten They Promised To Open A Restaurant In Rockford

How much longer do the fine folks of Rockford have to wait for Checkers to open a restaurant in the Forest City?

It looks like we might be waiting an eternity, unfortunately.

Back in 2016, we shared information the Rockford Register Star received saying Checkers "sees the potential in reopening their restaurants in the Rockford area."

Probably blustery speak, but Checkers was thinking about bringing "up to 11 restaurants to the Rockford area."

Since then, there hasn't been any word regarding Checkers opening a restaurant in Rockford. Nothing, not a peep.

So what gives? Since that day, it appears Checkers hasn't added any restaurants to any city in Illinois. The hope of "48 different Checkers locations" appears to be not happening.

Unless we're wrong. Which in that case would be a gloriously delicious mistake we'll fully apologize for when a Checkers breaks ground in Rockford.
