Do you love pickleball and hope to find love this year? Maybe you should head to Chicago for SPF's monthly Friday night singles takeover.

If you're not single, let me fill you in on what's it's like to be single in 2024... it sucks. I mean I'm sure it's always kind of sucked to be single, but back in the day, people didn't live on their phones, when you were out and about people actually spent time looking up and talking to people. Perhaps making a connection that turned into something more, you know, like a meet-cute?

These days, we spend our lives in our phones, especially when we're in a strange place in public.

So most of the dating that occurs is via those phones with dating apps. And at this point, no one really likes dating apps. We've all used them for too long and the appeal sort of faded away.

SPF isn't just something you wear to protect yourself from the sun. It's also Chicago's largest indoor pickleball facility. They are teaming up with MEET IRL, which is a singles events company in Chicago to create a monthly Friday Night Singles Takeover at SPF.

The first event is on Friday, October 11 from 6-11 p.m. and the events will continue the second Friday of each month at the Lincoln Park location.

One bummer though, it's not a free event. It's $30+ for the night of pickleball and maybe meeting the love of your life.

Though $30 to meet the love of your life isn't that bad. You can get tickets for the event on Eventbrite, where you can choose if you'd like to take pickleball lessons or just hang out at SPF.

There is something that is free though! The first 100 people who show up will get a free drink thanks to Long Drink and Ivy Hall. So your $30 ticket can seem more like $22.

Last but not least, you don't actually have to play pickleball to attend the event.
