VIDEO: Chicago Teacher Suggests All U.S. Teachers Strike Until Gun Legislation is Passed
A Chicago teacher shared a video on social media suggesting teachers go on strike until gun legislation is passed in the United States.
It's almost too heart-breaking to look up the statistics of school shootings in the United States.
According to Education Week, at the start of this week, September 10, 2024, there have already been 28 school shootings this year that resulted in injuries and death.
That is 28 too many.

You know that, I know that, and every teacher and parent that worries about school shootings every single day knows that.
One Chicago teacher shared a video on social media this week suggesting maybe teachers can do something to help change the laws.
While at first it might sound silly to think that teachers all over the United States can just walk out of the classroom and strike, but maybe that's exactly what needs to happen for the government to really take this as serious and it is.
Vanessa has a point, doesn't she?
Parents need schools. They need their kids to learn and like Vanessa suggested in the video, a lot of parents also work and literally need their kids to be with another adult Monday through Friday for most of the day.

You might think this isn't realistic, but the longer I think about it, the more I think it is. I vote for Vanessa to absolutely be the face of the teacher strike.
