Deep Discounts Right Now Booking Cruises Due To COVID-19 Fears

The coronavirus has hit the cruise industry very hard. One look at Expedia and other sites show just how much.

Expedia is offering cruises with discounts as high as 82%. A 7 night trip from Miami to the Caribbean is $549 per person.

This isn't for only cruises booked this month. A cruise booked to sail from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean on Sunday, May 24 returning on Sunday, May 31 is $529 per person, marked down 81%.

At Cruise Direct, a five-night Mediterranean cruise is only $157. Three of the ports of call are in Italy.

Italy has been one of the country's hardest hit by the coronavirus so it's understandable, that, at this time, it wouldn't be a desirable locale for a cruise stop.

However, a five-night Bahamas cruise leaving from Miami is $110 per person.

Regardless of how deep the discount may be on any and all cruises at this time, the US State Department says Americans should not cruise.
