Demi Lovato Breaks ‘Free’ With New Tattoo Since Admitting Relapse
Demi Lovato's new ink promises she's a changed woman.
In an Instagram Story shared on Monday (June 25), the 25-year-old revealed a new tattoo of the phrase "Free" written across her right pinky finger.
The image — captioned "Jun 22, 2018," possibly the date on which Lovato received the tat — may serve as a testament to the singer's new-found deliverance after confessing she'd broken her sobriety last week.
The former Disney star, who celebrated her sixth-anniversary solidarity in March, has always been transparent about her struggles with mental health and addiction over the years, both with her fans and in her music.
This proved true when Lovato released her soul-bearing track "Sober," in which she revealed she's no longer sober. “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore/ And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” sings on the apologetic ballad, "I wanna be a role model, but I'm only human."
Despite her emotional admission, however, the "Sorry Not Sorry" performer has received nothing but love from her followers and those who love her most. Like Iggy Azalea for instance, who praised her friend for having the courage to reveal her truth to the world in such a candid way.
In another pic posted by Lovato, a group shot of her management team flaunting their freshly-inked pinkies bearing the same phrase as her in an act of solidarity, the musician captioned, “The team that tats together stays together."
