Illinois Restaurants Dominate Yelp’s Best Midwest Pizza Joints List

Despite all the love Yelp heaped on Illinois pizza joints, I still have beef.

That's because despite Illinois being the best spot for pizza in America, an Illinois restaurant didn't take the top spot.

It's even worse because it didn't take the second spot either.

Critical darling, Pequod's finally got the nod at #3, with Milly's Pizza in the Pan and Dough Daddy's Pizza in Westmont in the top 10.

Maybe it's just me, but how is that even possible?

Pequod's was called the #1 pizza spot for 2024 by "Yelp Elites" but failed to take the crown for best in the Midwest.

If this ringing endorsement isn't enough to be #1, I don't know what else you can do:

Paul J. described Pequod's as "near perfection, if not perfection itself. A thick, slightly fluffy, slightly chewy crust...gooey, mild cheese, and crispy pepperoni, full of flavor and not too salty. This place is the real deal." But sure, make Pequod's third overall.
