DIY: How To Make This Rockford Olive Garden Favorite at Home
Olive Garden is great, it would be a hard argument to disagree. Over the past 10 months, I've enjoyed Olive Garden from home several times through their carry-out option. That changed slightly a few weeks ago. I still enjoy one of my favorite OG dishes in my home but this time I make it myself. It is superb and easy do to especially if you're a "let's cook it in the crockpot" kind of home. Get ready to enjoy Olive Garden's chicken pasta in your favorite comfy pants and hoody.
Here's what you're going to need:
- Chicken breast
- Cream cheese
- Fresh basil
- Olive Garden brand Italian dressing, a generic brand will do.
- Parmesan Cheese (pre-grated is fine.)
- Penne pasta
- Pepper
- Sun-dried tomatoes (diced)
How to do it:
It's so easy. Toss the chicken breast (1 pound or 3 of 4 breasts) into the crockpot, pour in a whole bottle of the Italian dressing, throw in the diced sun-dried tomatoes, add a half-cup of the parmesan cheese, place an entire block of cream cheese on top of everything in the center of the crockpot. Turn that bad boy (or girl) to high for four hours, or low for 5-6 hours.
Check the cooking time for the penne and allow time for the water to boil, too. Once both the penne and the crockpot ingredients use forks or tongs to shred the chicken. Completely strain the penne and then mix it into the crockpot, and enjoy.
