I don't know how well "making a face" at my dog actually works...Does my dog react and decide, "oh I better stop begging for food, look at that face he's making." Um, no that isn't a thing. IF anything it's the opposite for me and I'm a sucker for the faces Oakley makes at me...O.K. fine you can have some of my food, or the car keys, or whatever you want! Just stop giving me THAT FACE!

If you live in Normal, Illinois the face you make at your dog could land you in a haep of trouble. Herald

Here's another one of those "Dumb Illinois Laws" that is outdated and seriously beyond bizarre. People in Normal, Illinois cannot, I repeat cannot make faces at their dogs.

So imagine sitting in a jail cell, keeping to yourself not to make a scene..."What you in for bro, I robbed a liquor store...you? I made a face at my dog."

Can your dog actually tell if you're pissed just by the face you make? Your pup just destroyed your favorite Adidas and you drop your eyebrows and give Fido the stink eye...did that make your four legged friend learn his lesson, um...no.

My tone seems to work pretty good but then, again, my dog gives ME a face and I'm done. So living in Normal, Illinois wouldn't be a big deal for me. I wonder if I could get my dog arrested for making faces at me?

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
