With unpredictable weather currently sweeping through Illinois and into this weekend, there are some essentials you should keep in your car in case you get stranded on the road.

Driving when it's snowing outside makes me nervous already, but driving on slippery roads conditions with the chance of hitting black ice is even more terrifying.  That's why we can never be too prepared when a snowstorm arrives.

Snacks and water - This is just because I like to snack when I drive, but it's a win-win if you're hungry and stuck on the road.  Nobody wants to get hangry!
