Mike Ditka's restaurant location in Chicago is closing down.

I remember when Mike Ditka opened his first restaurant in Chicago. It was back during the '80s when he was the Super Bowl winning coach. It was a very popular place, at least in the beginning.

My family is huge Bear fans, so we went there for dinner a couple of times. It was a lot of fun. Like many other themed places, the novelty wore off and it went out of business.

Several years later, the coach started a new eatery. In fact, he owns a few locations. This time around it's doing much better. Again, we would go there to celebrate special occasions.

Unfortunately, their luck has run out for the one downtown. This time it's for a different reason.

According to wgntv.com,

"Ditka’s Restaurant Group announced Monday they are closing their Chicago location, citing the economic impact of COVID-19."

That's too bad because it was a good place with tasty food. So far, the other branches are unaffected. I suggest checking out the one in Oak Brook.
