Girl Scout Cookies Priced Differently Across Illinois
Tis the season to call your favorite Girl Scout and order your thin mints! But how much are you paying for a box this year? It might vary depending on where you live.
Girl Scout cookies are an American staple. Every year around this time, you find a Girl Scout and let them know you want at least four boxes of your favorite classic cookie, maybe a rough new variety of two and then you forget you even ordered any.
Then, two months later, your Girl Scout delivers your cookies to your house and you question what you do in your free time when you scarf down a whole sleeve in less than five minutes. Don't worry, I can actually eat the whole box in five minutes, so you shouldn't feel bad.

What might make you feel bad is knowing that the prices of Girl Scout cookies is not set across the country this year. That even here in Illinois you'll find some scouts selling boxes for $5 and others for $6, what gives?
I found this out while placing my order yesterday with my number one Girl Scout Mackenzie. When I ordered my four boxes I said, are they all the same price? And her mom filled me in on the differing costs this year. Some troops are selling them for $6 and others for $5, and there really isn't a reason why.

You know... this isn't the only crazy Girl Scout cookie discrepancy, did you know that across Illinois there are actually different cookie varieties? The most poplar cookie variety is probably the Caramel deLites that are called Samoas (and actually a bit different of a cookie) in some regions.
