Fresh off of giving away 150,000 pounds of food to area families, City First has something lined up for the kids, and they're going to love it.

It's no secret, there are families that are struggling. City First Church is continuing to prove they care about all families like that in our community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Just this week City First Church's Spring Creek location has been the epicenter for major food drives, helping thousands of families in need. And now they're offering something to keep our kids entertained during a summer camp-less season. You're going to want to set aside some time tomorrow, your kids will thank you later.

City First Church has an amazing kids program and they want to make sure children in our community have things to do this summer. On Friday, City First is handing out summer start kits filled with lots of goodies to keep kids entertained outdoors and indoors. Inside these bags (a.k.a summer starter kits) will be things like sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and temporary tattoos. The kits will also include things for inside fun, like a scavenger hunt kit. These summer-fun kits are free for all families. To get your kids a summer starter kit simply drive to their Rockford location (5950 Spring Creek Rd.) on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 4-6 pm. And, if this community effort mimics their food drives you may want to get into line earlier than 4 pm.
