"Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a daddy."

They say the most important relationship a little girl can have is with her father. It's that relationship that sets the precedent for all the other important relationships in a woman's life. It's not a coincidence that most of us end up with guys who remind us of good ol' dad. Psychology tells us girls tend to look for, in others, what they're familiar with from childhood- the good and the bad.

Which is why I'm shocked I ended up with a man like my husband, he's nothing like my dad. My dad and I were never close; I was never a daddy's girl. But that all changed when I got married. My dad gave the most unforgetable speech at my wedding. During our reception dinner, he stood at his seat and said, "Mandy, the day you were born was the happiest day of my life and today is the proudest." Short, sweet and it's something I'll always remember.

Every girl, whether they're 35 or five, should hear loving words from their fathers. It's even more special when those words come from a man who extends his hands and heart to another man's child. I get to witness this everyday with my own family. My husband, from day one, has treated my son like his very own. And while he didn't make any personal vows to my son during our wedding, he makes sure that he sets a good example for him each and every day; especially when it comes to loving me.

When NASCAR driver Brian Scott got married last January, he said his vows to not one, but two very important ladies in his life- his bride Whitney Kay and her daughter, Brielle; giving hope to single moms everywhere that there are still good man out there that are willing to step up to the plate and be a daddy.

The whole video is sweet, but if you want to skip to the mushy part, fast forward to 4:00.
