Kids are getting back to school in the Rockford area and chances are their sleep patterns are way out of whack.

I caught this chart floating around Facebook yesterday that showed the exact time kids should be going to bed.

Diet, exercise, and sleep are three of the most important things for an overall healthy body. If a kid isn't getting the right amount of sleep he or she needs, they won't be able to perform in school as expected.

It's all dependent on when your kids wake up though. It's a pretty handy chart but would you follow this sleep chart that closely? Imagine having a couple of kids at home age 5 and 10 and both wake up at the same time, say 7 a.m..

According to the chart, you would to need put your 5-year-old to bed at 7:30 p.m. and your 10-year-old to bed at 9 p.m.? That's not going to go over real well.

I guess what I'm saying is that if you have one child the chart should work well. If you have two or more, good luck.
