I've never seen a ghost or anything paranormal for that matter.

For some reason or another, the thought of a ghost encounter is exciting to me. Terrifying for sure, but reading this story shared on Ghosts Of America, makes me wish I could've experienced what this person claims to have seen.

The story goes back to the early 90s at the Great Oaks Apartment complex in Rockford. You know, located at 4801 Linden Road, you can see Great Oaks from 20 just before the Alpine exit. Side note: Apartment hunting in the early 2000s, I ended up looking at a place at Great Oaks. I ended up not moving in, but they were nice from what I remember.

Anyway, it's a hot summer night with absolutely no breeze, and Erich, the person who shared the story says he was sleeping with his window open when he heard a vehicle making a ton of noise. Erich decided to see what was going on. At first, the car wasn't moving. After some time, it finally drove away proceeding to make more noise.

Shortly thereafter, the encounter occurred.

What I saw was this beautiful blonde lady in a blue flowing dress. She floated across the lawn, and her hair and gown flowed with a breeze. However, it was a hot humid night with no breeze.

Erich remarks that he couldn't believe what he was seeing. He said he rubbed his eyes and poof, the ghost in a blue dress was gone. Erich says "I still get chills when I think of this story. The thing that still amazes me is the vivid color blue of her gown. It flowed like silk and seemed to have a life of its own."

Pretty incredible, but is it true? It's been many years since Erich's encounter with an apparition at Great Oaks. The question is, do you or someone you know ever lived at those apartments? Have you ever seen the "ghost in a blue dress" at Great Oaks?
