A group is trying to save the trolley in Rockford.

Budget cuts are happening everywhere from all levels of government to businesses to individuals. Some hit close to home.

Recently, the Rockford Park District announced it would no longer be able to operate Trolley Car 36 along the Rock River because of financial difficulties. It was a sad day.

Some people have decided they are going to do something about it.

According to wrex.com,

"Since the budget cut, a group of citizens has set up a fundraiser to get the trolley back on track for the summer."

The park district says it needs $16,000 by the deadline of April 13th to run the trolley on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer.

The group has already collected $1,100.

If you would like to help out, please make a donation to the gofundme page.

Help save Rockford's trolley.
