Here’s Why We Think Illinois Restaurants Are On Triple D’s Naughty List
Does Guy Fieri have some outstanding parking tickets or something?
What gives when it comes to featuring Illinois restaurants on the long-running TV show Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives?
Don't get me wrong; Triple D has been in the Land of Lincoln numerous times throughout the award-winning show's run.
It's just been a while since we've seen an Illinois joint get a visit from Guy himself.
There might be a handful of reasons why Fieri hasn't been back, the most obvious being the pandemic.

I'm confident, like everything else, it held up filming, and they are still digging themselves out some three to four years later.
The other could be that they just haven't found a host of restaurants or a city (ahem, Rockford, let's make it happen) worth visiting to use on the show.
The most recent Illinois restaurant profiled on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives was in 2021, on an episode called Takeout: All Over The Menu.
The "Takeout" Triple D episodes were a direct result of COVID-19, and through about June of 2021, that was the only type of show they aired.
From Season 34, episode 3 featured La Scarola, a Chicago Italian restaurant.
It would be a good choice if La Scarola were the last Illinois restaurant profiled on Triple D.
Scoring a 4.2 out of 5 on Yelp with over 1,500 stellar reviews like Jim W., who said a meal he saw prepared on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives "did not disappoint," and it was better than they "could have imagined."
You can try La Scarola in person at 721 West Grand Avenue in Chicago while we wait for another Illinois restaurant to get the triple D treatment.
