Looking for a historic home that's large enough to give you and the entire family plenty of room? Well, you won't have to go too far to find one.

Last week, I shared details of a home that was about 90 minutes from Rockford that had plenty of room to spread out but needed some work.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon another giant home much closer to Rockford. This huge house is in Freeport and is $40,000 cheaper than the one from last week.

I found it on Old House Dreams, and apparently, it was built in 1882. So I guess, sure, we can call that house old and definitely historic.

Like the house from last week, this one is also 7 bedrooms along with 3 full bathrooms and 2 half baths. Long story short, this place is a monster coming in at 2571 square feet and currently listed at $149,900.

Realtor.com:

Two leaded, crystal jeweled entrance doors. Three walk-in pantries! Built-in shelves - Library room. Two fireplaces, with beautifully carved mantels & tiles; one operational, one not. Lovely oak & cherry woodwork - handsome pocket doors, throughout. Lengthy, swinging door(s) between kitchen & dining room, Rolled & layered, ornate wallpaper of trees & scenes, dating back to late 1800's!

I mean, if you're looking for a new (old) place and those details don't get you interested, nothing will. I'm not looking for a new place right now but even I want to see it for myself. It just sounds so gorgeous.

It also seems like the realtor only wants serious buyers. The listing is asking for loan pre-approval before getting a look-see in-person.

Lucky for us, we can take a sneak peek inside this historic home without having to sign anything. Check out the pics.
