Did you think joining a gym would result in your own personal love story? It looks like that's only true for 1.33 percent of us.

That kind of makes sense to me. I don't know about you, but I do not look cute after running for 30 minutes on the treadmill. I look like a sweaty plum, and really no one wants to converse with sweaty plums.

So if you are single and also look strange at the gym, don't worry because you probably will not meet your husband or your wife there.

Where will you meet him or her? According to a new survey, you probably aren't finding love at the gym. Instead, you'll find someone through your friends or at work.

Meeting through friends edges out work by less than 1 percent, so I'd say they're pretty equal. Through friends is how 25.22 percent of people say they met their spouse, and 24.34 percent met their match at work.

Next in line, at a bar, or through some other social event, 14.6 percent. 13.72 percent of people met their spouse online. Then we fall to lose "lucky" people, who met their spouses way earlier in life, 11.06 percent met in college, 9.73 percent met in high school.

Then, finally, that teeny tiny percentage of gym couples, 1.33 percent. So forget wearing mascara when you run. That's just pure silliness.
