Illinois Basketball Fans Can Bid on Michael Jordan’s Used Underwear
I'm not a huge sports fan, but even if I was, I don't think I'd want these.
Sports memorabilia is a HUGE market. From signed jerseys to all sorts of balls, bats, sticks, etc. you can pretty much find any kind of sports memorabilia for sale online. However, this is the first time I'm seeing this kind of clothing item being offered up for auction.
If you've never heard of Michael Jordan, I'm just going to assume you're from another planet. That might be my Illinois-born-self talking, but seriously, he's only the most epic basketball legend ever. Again, I may be a little bias.
I even share the same initials as the legend himself. It's kind of where I got my Instagram name from "Thenextbigmj". But no matter how legendary someone is, do you want their used underwear? Because apparently, some basketball fans do.
I just need you to read the description on this bidding listing -
Unusual item shows definite use as this pair of underwear/compression shorts was worn by Michael Jordan with some loose threads evident at the seams. Originating from a family member of MJ's "Last Dance" security guard John Michael Wozniak, it even has a dry cleaning tag inside with the last name "Wozniak" as well as a tag that says Michael Jordan, with the iconic last name on the waistband. About as close to greatness as one can get, this is just one of the many items in this auction that were given to Wozniak from MJ himself including suits, ties, belts, and jackets.
Yeah, I'd say it's pretty unusual. Also, imagine being so rich you get your underwear dry cleaned.
So what do these things look like?
There's the dry-cleaning tag.
And there are the undies. As of now (Sept. 3), the highest bid is $976. The bidding started at $500 and will stay open until Sept. 25.
