Illinois ‘Bourbon’ Brew Among America’s Best Beers
Leave your appetite at home because you will be full after a few of these.
That's because Stacker compiled a list of the best beers from each state in America, and Illinois' brew looks like a meal.
I don't know; maybe it's just me, but when I see the word "stout" written on the side of a beer bottle, I know I can only have one or two.
I feel bloated and heavy and most likely ready for a nap.

Again, plenty of people probably drink these daily because it is considered the best beer in the entire state.
I'm talking about Bourbon County Brand Stout from Goose Island Beer Company.
Stacker says, "This ink-black smoky stout doesn't mess around: One reviewer says, "The blackness of the beer is like the inside of a coffin on a moonless night."
Another review says it's like "drinking liquid chocolate with whiskey in it., maybe not so much, but definitely has wine-like qualities."
Beer Advocate gave Bourbon County Brand Stout a perfect score of 100.
It is listed as the 21st-best American Imperial Stout in the US and ranked the beer as 61st-best overall.
The alcohol by volume in one Bourbon County Brand Stout is just under 15%, which might be another reason I'm ready to go to bed afterward.
Considering its caramel, chocolate, and toffee-like flavor, having just one might not be easy.
Illinois is home to many great breweries and beers. What do you think is the best in the state?
