Illinois’ ‘Most Popular’ Music Festival Will Totally Surprise You
Lollapalooza is four days of fun right in the heart of Chicago.
The festival covers pop, rock, hip-hop, dance, and even country music in Grant Park.
Thousands of people descend on the Windy City for this long-running concert.
Some of the biggest names in music history have performed at Lollapalooza.
Considering the history, the absolute sea of humanity, and the beauty of Chicago's skyline, you must think Lolla is the most popular summer festival in Illinois.
Lollapalooza isn't the most popular in the state.
Privacy Journal goes on to say that's not by accident. Their research team compiled this list using the most-searched-for summer festivals as a popularity metric. That means some festivals can capture the attention of a population, even beyond attendees.

Given all that, do you know what is considered the most popular summer festival in Illinois?
It's not Burning Man, even though it is America's most popular summer festival as it was the most searched for in 33 states.
Believe it or not, Illinois' most popular summer festival is the Windy City Smokeout. Yes, you heard that right!
The four-day festival kicked off yesterday with Thomas Rhett as the headliner.
The Windy City Smokeout is a country music festival celebrating the finest BBQ you could ever taste.
That's not all, though. It's also a collection of some of America's finest BBQ.
Featuring BBQ from Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, Colorado, Arkansas, Connecticut, Kansas, Arizona, New York, Mississippi, and, of course, Illinois, it's a dream come true for Country music fans and those who love a good slab of ribs, a heaping helping of brisket or a plate of burnt ends.
Combining a favorite food like BBQ with some of the biggest names in Country music is bound to be a winner.
Tickets for Saturday sold out, but you can still experience the Windy City Smokeout at the United Center parking lot tonight and Sunday.
However, while the sounds of Country music and BBQ might be music to some folks' ears, it's an expensive endeavor.
Tickets for today are about $90 with an inexplicable $25 fee, while it's slightly cheaper but still pricey for Sunday.
Have you been to the Windy City Smokeout? Is it worth the time and money?
