Halloween candy isn't getting any cheaper, and if you're the one responsible for keeping trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood happy every October, I'm not telling you something you don't already know.

Illinois Ranks 6th in America for Halloween Candy Spending

How Many Americans Actually Hand Out Halloween Candy?

An interesting nugget in the study shows that 79% of Americans typically hand out Halloween candy, which I feel is kind of low and surprising, to be honest. Unless you're the house that's hiding with all the lights off, pretending nobody's home. Don't think I don't know about that house.

You can spend $58 or $158 on Halloween candy, but by the time it's all said and done, the neighborhood kids will only remember the house handing out full-size Snickers. I know all about that house too.

I've accepted that we're never going to be that house, and I'm perfectly fine with it. Right now, I'm just trying to make it through Halloween without having to repurpose my son's fruit snacks as Halloween candy.
