Think yoga is too 'boring' for you? Why don't you try it on ice and then see what you think. Alt Yoga's first 'Yoga on Ice' Event is this Saturday at the Bmo Center in Rockford.

Full disclosure, I used to tell people yoga was boring. I know, I know. I was misinformed and I was taking the wrong classes. Ten years ago I really did think yoga was boring though, I didn't understand the movements and my instructors weren't fun.

Fast forward to moving to Rockford and meeting Marissa from Alt Yoga. I'm not sure she's ever done anything boring in her entire life.

Alt Yoga is exactly what it sounds like, alternative yoga. Yoga that is anything but boring, and she's always coming up with new class ideas, like goat yoga, rage yoga and setting up yoga mats on the ice this Saturday before the Rockford Icehogs game.

Alt Yoga's first Yoga on Ice starts at 3pm on January 27, Marissa will be hosting the hour long class literally on the ice, but there will be mats out for you to put your yoga mats on top of when you arrive.

Your ticket to Yoga on Ice also includes a ticket to the Icehogs game Saturday night, which starts at 7pm.
