Illinois Is Home To A 10-Pound Meatball Sandwich
The home for this 10-pound meatball sandwich is located in Illinois.
If nothing else, people across the world have one thing in common. That is the love for food. I totally understand it. The food is good. Especially, when it is done well. What is really cool, every culture has its own style. You can take something as simple as a cheeseburger but every time you order one, it is completely different. I love that kind of uniqueness.
I believe Americans are obsessed with eating. They have a fascination with big food. I am talking about huge dishes. The record-breaking type. The worlds largest is always the best. It does not matter if it is pizza, donuts, or anything in between. If a chef is going for it, the story will make headlines on the news.
Luckily, we live in Illinois. There are many tasty restaurants making all kinds of different flavors of delicious food. Especially, in Rockford. The serving sizes are usually large so you never have to worry about leaving hungry.
A short road trip is needed to try this giant meatball sandwich, but I definitely think it will be worth it.
I just want to start out by sharing a picture of it on the Bartolini's Restaurant, Catering, and Banquets Facebook page...
According to onlyinyourstate.com,
"But what really sets Bartolini's apart from every other Italian restaurant is its meatballs. But do you have what it takes to participate in Bartolini's Meatball Challenge? This 10-pound sandwich is made with five pounds of the world-famous meatballs topped with 1.5 pounds of red gravy, 1.5 pounds mozzarella, and one pound of peppers (hot or sweet) all stuffed into a three-foot-long Turano bread loaf that weighs a pound."
If you can finish the beast, you get it for free. Do not worry, this is not a solo mission. You can have a team of four, so grab your buddies that are the best eaters. In case you can not complete the job, it will cost you $59.99. That is actually a pretty good deal for what you are getting.
Bartolini's is located at 14420 Pulaski Road in Midlothian, Illinois.
