There are some pretty gnarly ear injuries in the history of sports, most notably involving Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield.

I remember watching this like it was last week. It was 1997, Tyson vs. Holyfield for the heavyweight title, third round, tie-up, **chomp**. Mike Tyson bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear. It was crazy.

(Fun Fact: Mike Tyson's cannabis company has ear-shaped edibles called "Mike's Bites.")

Three years before that was another ear injury but this one was gruesome and it didn't involve teeth nor biting.

"I GOT YOUR EAR!"

In the book, Have A Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks, professional wrestler Mick Foley shared the story of how a portion of his right ear. His head got caught between two of the ring ropes and he had to forcibly remove his head and, rip, there goes part of his ear. It was never reattached, It's actually a funny story, I promise.

That isn't the best motto to live by and you certainly shouldn't bite another person's ear off.

We don't know whose home it happened in but we do know "who done it."

A 28-year-old man forced his way into a home and inside was another man with his girlfriend. Apparently, the two men knew each other. Whatever led to their confrontation wasn't noted but what we do know is the 28-year-old intruder took a page out of Mike Tyson's book and made it his own.

Mike Tyson took a "nibble" in comparison to this man, who bit off half of the other guy's right ear!

CHARGES?

Yes, the 28-year-old man was arrested and charged. Ironically, he was grinning ear-to-ear in his mugshot, which you can see here.
