Illinois Mom Applauded For Making Her 5-Year-Old ‘Pay Rent’

When I had my son 20 years ago, the one thing I told myself was that I wanted to do everything I could to ensure that he had a much better life than I did.

I couldn't exactly give that to him while he was growing up because I was, in a sense, still growing up too; I was only 18 when I had him. But, if I could help him develop the skills and give him the tools he needed to be more successful in life, I would.

Whether he uses those tools is obviously up to him but in hindsight, I wish I would've started helping him develop those skills much earlier.

Like this mom; who according to WGN, is being praised for making her 5-year-old daughter 'pay rent.'
