Illinois’ Most Drool-Worthy Fried Chicken Just Got 20 Minutes Closer To Rockford
For years, I would drive to Rock Falls or Sterling for what I think is some of the best fried chicken on the planet.
As of this week, my drive for Chicken George just got a few minutes shorter.
That's because That Place on Palmyra, 628 Palmyra Road in Dixon is now home to Chicken George.
Why? The folks that own the Candlelight Inn in Rock Falls and Sterling just bought That Place on Palmyra.
With that, came changes to the menu and the addition of their famous, and I mean famous, Chicken George. By the way, an order of Chicken George sans Jan Sauce is an incomplete meal.
Anyway, That Place on Palmyra after being closed for a short time while new ownership got used to their new digs, is fully operational.
That Place on Palmyra is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
