On Thursday the Illinois State Police announced they are continuing their hyper-focused mission to catch law-violating and distracted driver on Illinois roads, and today they begin focusing on some of state's biggest tollways.

Starting today, May 10, through May 28, 2019, Illinois State Police are setting up special Traffic Enforcement Patrols (sTEP) in counties all across Illinois looking for speeding drivers,failures to use seat belts and other driving offenses.

According to their press release, here are the counties and tollways where these sTEP patrols will be set up:

  •  Cook County - Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I‐90) and the Central Tri‐State Tollway (I‐294),
  • DeKalb County -  Reagan Memorial Tollway (I‐88), DuPage on I‐88 and the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I‐355)
  • Kane County -  I‐88 and I‐90
  • Lake County -  North Tri‐ State Tollway (I‐94)
  • Will County - I‐355
  • Winnebago County - I‐90

These sTEP patrols will still be one the lookout for law violators over Memorial Day weekend, so PLEASE drive responsibly, or you WILL get caught.
