Illinois Teacher’s Powerful Words Influence Students’ Love For Learning
Teachers are truly angels in education. They have a powerful platform to impact a child's life even beyond the classroom.
Logan, a student at Loves Park Elementary, was struggling in Kindergarten that led to him not enjoying school. Until he met his 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Simmonds!
Congratulations to 97ZOK Teacher Of The Week
Mrs. Simmonds from Loves Park Elementary!
Mrs. Simmonds was nominated by Logan & his mother. This nomination letter shows just why we recognize teachers in the Stateline!
"Mrs. Simmonds is truly a gift to my son and all the first graders she teaches. My son was having a tough time with kindergarten and not liking school.
When we went to meet the teacher, she was so excited that Logan was in her class and let him know how much she was looking forward to have him join her class. This made an impact on him and he was looking forward to starting 1st grade.
She has been amazing with him and he loves going to school and seeing all his friends now. She has them fill a jar up with marbles and when they get it filled all the way up when they are being good. After it’s all filled up, they get to pick what the price is for doing a great job.
This is just one of the ways she is making 1st grade an awesome and fun time. I am so grateful for her and her positivity and excitement about her class."
As Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Simmonds was surprised with a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and money to spend at WM Day Spa Salon.
If there's a teacher in your life who is making an impact inside and outside the classroom, tell us about them - we want to surprise them with gifts!
